Whether you want to furnish a mountain kitchen with a rustic or modern style, there is no shortage of options regarding cooking appliances. To make your wishes come true, products with a minimal style can be choosen, which fit well into any environment, or retro-style appliances, which however have advanced technologies capable of guaranteeing advanced functions to support the user while cooking.

Induction technology with Dual Max Power zone
Thanks to its essential style, the induction hob integrates into any context, allowing to exploit the advantages of this cooking method. The FSH 905 ID WT BK model by Fulgor Milano (90 cm), for example, is in glossy black glass ceramic and has 5 induction areas. It is characterized by Wave Touch Slider controls and stands out for having the Dual Max Power area in the centre, i.e. two concentric areas of different sizes and powers: it therefore adapts automatically to pots of different sizes, making cooking easier. Furthermore, the product is equipped with Flexi technology (Automatic Bridge) thanks to which it is possible to combine the 4 single zones into 2 large vertical ones, allowing the use of large trays. In addition, the hob has 9 power levels + booster, preset temperatures (40°, 70°, 90°) and end of cooking timer. As regards safety, it is guaranteed by a system that includes the pan detection sensor, the touch control block, the residual heat indicator and the automatic switch-off with temperature sensor. Finally, the appliance is also available in matt black glass ceramic.

The charm of the past lives again
Bertazzoni’s Heritage Series is inspired by the products created by the company at the beginning of the twentieth century, but enriched with contemporary technologies. In particular, the 60 cm F6011HERVPTAC oven is available in matt black or ivory with chrome or copper details. It has a 76-litre cavity and 11 functions for cooking at medium-low temperatures, with static or ventilated cooking, or for browning with the infrared grill. The appliance is controlled via the knobs and the TFT display, thanks to which it is also possible to manage the thermometric probe and the Bertazzoni Assistant which supports the user during the cooking process. The Total Steam function, on the other hand, allows to steam cook and the water tank can be removed and filled without having to interrupt the cooking program. A further strong point of the oven is the cleaning by pyrolysis, which allows to easily clean the appliance using heat, without the need for detergents. Finally, the door has a quadruple athermal glass which guarantees safety and efficiency.

Tradition and modernity combine harmoniously in an ancient Walser cabin of 1754, located in the characteristic village of Alagna Valsesia in Piedmont (Italy). The interior renovation was carried out by Planners One that managed to preserve the charm of the typical mountain house, while equipping it with technological solutions capable of satisfying contemporary needs. Kitchen is inserted inside a single room of approximately 16 m2, which serves as an entrance, dining and living area. The intervention saw the recovery of original internal structures from the Eighteenth century, such as the “block -bau” wooden wall and the door that gives access to the sleeping area.

Cooking in a functional and efficient environment
The kitchen is completely tailor-made as, due to the dimensions of some elements in ancient recovery wood used for the coating, it was not possible to obtain a classic modularity, except for the 60 cm fridge/oven column. Furthermore, the development of the kitchen is angular (but not at a right angle) and includes all the main appliances. The cooking area is characterized by a 60 cm induction hob with 4 inductors and 9 power levels (plus booster); above it there is the built-in extractor hood with adjustable LED lights and anti-condensation system. The oven is a 60×45 cm combined microwave with 20 automatic programs and the function that facilitates cleaning through the use of steam. As regards food storage, the kitchen is equipped with a built-in under counter refrigerator.

Advanced technologies
Despite the rustic character of the kitchen, there is no shortage of advanced technological equipment, such as the "frame television" (which hangs on the wall and, reproducing paintings and photographs, looks like a painting avoiding the "black stamp" effect) and the Bluetooth speaker for sound diffusion. In the kitchen there are also LED lighting fixtures (the result of a light design project), an electric radiator that can be managed remotely and a wood-burning fireplace with an air ducting system to also heat the bathroom and bedroom.
Attention to detail
The entire project is characterized by great attention to detail. The wooden covering of the doors and drawers, for example, was created by recovering (and then treating) ancient shutters from a Nineteenth-century Alpine farmhouse in an adjacent valley. Furthermore, the top is a single piece in flamed and brushed Luserna stone with an exposed hand-hammered edge.

“Filippo’s kitchen” is a project realized by the company Comes for a private home, located in Ancona, in central Italy. It is an environment conceived as a balanced mix of bold colours, wooden details and industrial-style furnishing accessories, which give personality to the space in which they are placed. The kitchen is developed within an open space which allows to admire the Gulf of Ancona through large window areas. The environment dedicated to conviviality and food preparation is the protagonist of the room and the wooden peninsula, imposing compared to the work area, makes it clear how the project was designed to invite people to “stop” and admire the outside.

The appliances stand out
The kitchen is developed with a “C” shape, within which the appliances not only play a functional role but become distinctive elements capable of standing out in the environment, starting from the black hood with a contemporary design, which matches the minimal style of the induction hob, creating a modern taste area reserved for cooking. In the context of clean and essential lines that characterize the project, this appliance catches the eye: it inserts as a furnishing object within the kitchen environment and at the same time is a technological tool that guarantees air quality through extraction of fumes and vapours, as well as performing the function of illuminating the hob. In the project, a further distinctive element is the refrigerator, with soft lines in the 1950s style which, together with the hood, attracts attention and characterizes the kitchen. Finally, the column-mounted oven and built-in dishwasher complete the range of equipment.

Color to give “character”
Photo Media Visium.

The metal hood with an industrial flavor and the iconic refrigerator give a personal and "youthful" tone to the kitchen, also daring with colour. Comes focused on this aspect to give "character" to the project, ensuring that the appliances are not only necessary equipment to carry out specific functions but also objects capable of making the kitchen environment pleasant, becoming the heart of the home.

In recent years, the possibilities for creating a bar atmosphere at home have multiplied. Espresso enthusiasts, wine or cocktail lovers can now choose from numerous technological proposals to improvise as barman without too much difficulty. Thanks to the automatic programs and electronic adjustments, it is not complicated to obtain the perfect coffee according to your tastes, have the right size ice cubes and keep the wine bottles at the correct temperature.

The pleasure of coffee and cappuccino
It’s not impossible to enjoy a good espresso or a creamy cappuccino without having to leave home: with the latest generation machines, the preparation of coffee and milk-based drinks is quick and easy, making this daily pleasure within everyone’s reach. The FCM 4500 TF X machine by Fulgor Milano, for example, is a built-in model with a stainless steel finish. The controls are intuitive thanks to the TFT touch display: it is possible to choose the length and intensity of coffee (from very light to extra strong) and 3 temperatures. This appliance offers 30 automatic programs, allowing users to make different drinks thanks to the cappuccinatore and the dispensing of hot water for tea and herbal teas. Furthermore, it also features a coffee grinder and the simultaneous alternating preparation (2 cups for 5 types of coffee). Further plusses of the product are the possibility to adjust the water hardness, the stand-by mode for energy saving and the indicators to signal the absence of water, the lack of coffee, the need to carry out the cleaning cycle and to replace the limescale filter.

Never without ice
To make a perfect cocktail, ice is essential. For this purpose, R.G.V.’s Mojito series offers two easy-to-use tools: an ice maker and an ice-crusher. The first is a compact appliance, with a stainlesssteel structure and an LCD touch control panel. It is a portable appliance, which does not require a plumbing system and which has a front drawer for collecting ice. It is able to produce cubes of 3 different sizes: through the water recirculation system, those that dissolve inside the product are formed again. The ice-crusher, on the other hand, does not chop the ice but splits it in a disorderly way just like in the Caribbean tradition: in this way, it resists liquefaction for longer. The appliance has a removable container, equipped with a safety microswitch , and a stainless steel body.

Cool drinks until the last sip
Conviviality within home is enriched by an innovative built-in refrigerated glacette, to keep wine and other types of drinks always cool once the bottle has been opened. Easily integrable into the surfaces, the glacette Kaelo by Kevin Jabou (distributed in Italy by Frigo2000) can be used as a complement to the wine cellar or alone, simply to keep the temperature of the drink taken out of the refrigerator constant. The crown is made of hand-brushed stainless steel and there are 10 different finishes available. Additionally, the patented Kryolux ™ cooling system creates a “jacket” of cold air that envelops the bottle, leaving the wine chilled and the bottle dry. Kaelo cools down in few seconds but uses only the power of a 60 Watt bulb. Smart touch technology is fused into the crown: just a touch on it to turn on the product or change the color of the light. Finally, a freestanding version is also available.

Two independent temperature zones
A single appliance for best storing wines that require different temperatures: the EWTgw 3583 “temperate” cellar of the Liebherr Vinidor range is a versatile built-in appliance, characterized by 2 independently adjustable temperature zones between +5°C and +20°C. There are numerous technological features that distinguish the product: the ElectronicTouch control with LCD display ensures the constant maintenance of the selected temperatures, moreover each zone is equipped with its own FreshAir activated carbon filter to ensure excellent air quality. The LED lighting intensity is adjustable and the smoked glass door guarantees protection from UV rays. Vibrations, also harmful for the good preservation of wine, are reduced to a minimum thanks to the SoftSystem door closing system. The door, however, closes automatically when an angle of 45° is reached. A further feature of the product are the wooden shelves mounted on telescopic guides, which allow easy access to the bottles.

Its name is “Spina-Dorsale” (Italian word meaning “backbone”) and is a solution conceived by PadiglioneB Architecture Studio for an apartment of about 90 square meters in northern Italy, in the province of Verona. It is a structure characterized by a piece of furniture that is articulated in a continuous form between the kitchen and the entrance, separating the living area from the sleeping one and becoming the central element of the house, like a sort of “backbone” which performs various functions: wardrobe, empty-pockets, seat with shoe rack and kitchen. The passage to the sleeping area takes place through a door obtained from a door of the wardrobe and perfectly integrated with the latter. «The client – explains the architect Alberto Bassi, founder of PadiglioneB together with Chiara Tenca, also an architect – wanted a renovation that reflected his own personality. We have tried to hit the target taking care to create, in addition to a project theme, also a piece of furniture that actually characterizes him. Thus Spina Dorsale was born, becoming the central element of the entire apartment, which concretely performs the “vital” functions of the building itself».

The kitchen
In the project, the kitchen environment was designed to integrate harmoniously with the space reserved for the living room. The appliances dedicated to cooking are built into the cabinet, which includes a 4 elements black glass induction hob and the combi oven, above which the built-in microwave oven is placed. With regard to the refrigerator, however, a freestanding model in stainless steel was chosen. The realization of the project, as far as the kitchen environment is concerned, did not present any critical issues at the plant level. «We didn’t encounter any particular difficulties in creating the kitchen cabinet and the relative electrical and plumbing connections – Alberto Bassi underlines -. In fact, the new floor made it possible to create suitable slopes for all the drains».

Spaces highlighted by colour

The project is characterized by the combination of two colors that respectively define the internal and external spaces. «The theme of color – says Bassi – has been the subject of research. We wanted a marked contrast between the external partitions and the elements carved into the interior of the furniture, and we identified two pairs of colors to propose to the property: gray for the exterior and yellow for the interior as regards the first combination, and blue dark and lobster for the second proposal, which was then chosen by the owners. Furthermore, in our opinion, the color emerges in a marked form also thanks to the floor made of polished concrete».

When induction hob and hood become a single appliance, it is possible to give a new shape to the cooking area, redesigning the spaces and daily movements. The extractor hob is one of those innovations that have been able to revolutionize the kitchen environment, combining functionality, technology and aesthetics. It is no longer necessary to plan the footprint of the hood, because the extraction takes place from below. The advantages of an effective capture of vapors are combined with the practicality and technological functions of induction cooking. All in a device with a clean and minimalist style.

Aria+ with Chef function
Technological heart and essential design: Aria+ by Fulgor Milano allows to cook with an advanced appliance with a contemporary style. The 80 cm FHH 800 ID TC BK model features 4 cooking zones (adjustable to 9 power levels + Booster) with Bridge functionality. The Multifunction Touch Control system allows to manage the various functions, including Chef which allows to preset cooking areas at different temperatures. Other useful options are the timer and keeping food warm. In addition, it is also possible to have the power limiter. As far as suction is concerned, the hood is hidden under the glass-ceramic flap and has 10 levels of regulation, adjustable delayed auto-off, waterproof motor, dishwasher-safe grease filters and regenerable activated carbon anti-odour filters. The product reaches A++ energy class and is designed for use in extraction or filtering mode. Finally, Aria+ is also available in the 60 cm version.

Collaboration with Valerio Cometti Studio
Attention to detail distinguishes the P804ICH2M37NT extractor hob by Bertazzoni, created in collaboration with Valerio Cometti Studio. Aesthetic is dominated by the circular grid with the brand logo in the centre. Functionally, the product has 4 cooking areas, multi-zone technology and integrated hood with 10 speeds. Among the various functions with which the appliance is equipped, Automatic Operation allows the suction level to be automatically adjusted according to the power selected for cooking. Furthermore, timer can be activated simultaneously for all the cooking zones even with different times, while the Pause/Recall function temporarily interrupts the entire hob activity and then start cooking again maintaining the same settings.

Compact and silent
Perfecto by Galvamet (60 and 80 cm) is designed to fit easily into the kitchen environment: the appliance can be installed in free-standing or built-in way without interruption on the worktop. Furthermore, the motor positioned directly under the glass guarantees the preservation of space in the base for the drawers. The hood operates silently and can be set to 9 speeds + Booster. The functions of the suction system include adjustable delayed auto-shutdown and alerts for maintenance of the grease filter and the Long Life anti-odour filter. Furthermore, thanks to a special kit, the hood can be transformed from extractor to filtering. As regards the functions relating to cooking, the hob with 4 zones is equipped with Bridge mode, residual heat indicator, pan detector, child lock, etc. The product is easy to control thanks to the slider controls and guarantees a high level of energy efficiency (A++class).

Inspired by Ptolemy
The Tolomeo (Ptolemy) suction hob by Fim-airworks, which combines technology and design, takes its name from the famous scientist and astronomer. Elegant and clean in its lines, thanks to the central suction system it reaches high levels of fume capture and energy efficiency. In addition, the touch controls allow to easily manage the different functions. Among these, the Intensive mode is useful when large quantities of steam are generated, because it activates the hood at maximum power for a certain time (in order to quickly eliminate odors) and then automatically reduces the suction speed. Other available functions are: the power limiter, the Booster and Bridge modes, keeping warm, the function that temporarily pauses cooking, the Minute Minder that sets the countdown on the hob, etc. Tolomeo is made in the 60 and 80 cm versions.

Refrigerator is an indispensable appliance for any type of home, even when it’s a second home, for example at the seaside, where people spend holidays especially in the hottest season. Keeping food and drinks fresh is not a problem, indeed the most recent models of refrigerators are equipped with technologies that preserve the freshness of food for a long time and, depending on the appliance, also allow the dispensing of fresh water and ice. Furthermore, the variety of available proposals (in terms of dimensions, aesthetics, etc.) makes it easy to find the most suitable solution for any type of kitchen.

More space in the same footprint
Designed to fit 75 cm niches, with a height of 193 cm, Grundig Himalaya 75 offers more capacity than a standard fridge-freezer. Thus, it satisfies the needs of those who want more space for storing fresh food, without having to give up a built-in model. The appliance is equipped with the latest generation technologies, such as the VitaminZone drawer which preserves the vitamin contents of fruit and vegetables. Inside, a special alternation of light stimuli simulates the natural 24-hour solar cycle: the colored lights follow one another (4 hours blue light, 2 hours green light, 6 hours red light and 12 hours dark) to allow vitamins A and C and the nutrients to be stored longer. Furthermore, the presence of two separate and independent cooling systems maximizes product performance by guaranteeing a correct level of humidity in the refrigerator compartment and a dry environment in the freezer.

Coordinated aesthetics
With Ilve ‘s Nostalgie collection it is possible to design a kitchen environment that is homogeneous in style also with regard to the main appliances. The side-by-side refrigerator combines retro aesthetics and advanced technologies: it is available in different colors and with various finishes for the handles, and is equipped with electronic control and a water and ice dispenser. It offers a large internal volume (the fridge compartment has a net capacity of 336 liters and the freezer compartment of 152 litres) and features the Super cooling and Super freezing functions. The subdivision of the spaces allows to stow food and drinks in an orderly manner: the refrigerator has 4 glass shelves, 2 drawers for fruit and vegetables and 5 balconies on the inner door, while the freezer includes 2 drawers, 4 glass shelves and 2 balconies. Finally, the appliance is energy efficient.

Filtered and also flavored water
Water and refreshing drinks without the need for plastic bottles: Samsung refrigerators with Beverage Center allow to obtain fresh filtered water both from the dispenser and from the integrated carafe which is topped up automatically (thanks to the Autofill function) and which allows to flavor water with fruit, vegetables and flavourings. Furthermore, the Dual Auto Ice Maker, positioned inside the refrigerator, fills up independently and produces two different sizes of ice cubes: the Ice Cubes (useful for refreshing water) and the Ice Bites (smaller and ideal for juices, soft drinks and cocktails). Another plus of the product is the Smart Conversion function which provides 5 different ways to convert the freezer compartment into a refrigerator, according to needs.

Professional design and technologies
The stainless steel exterior and interior give a robust and professional design to the refrigerators of the PRO line by Sub-Zero (built-in and freestanding), distributed in Italy by Frigo2000. They are equipped with a double refrigeration system (one for the refrigerator compartment and the other for the freezer) and a triple evaporator which allows to set different temperatures in the upper compartment of the refrigerator and in the refrigerator drawers. Furthermore, the Air purification system (technology invented by the NASA) reduces bacteria, viruses and the amount of ethylene gas that is emitted by some foods. In particular, the ICBPRO3650G model is characterized by the triple glass door resistant to UV rays. The fridge compartment has, among its equipment, a drawer with a lid that keeps the humidity level high and 2 removable stainless steel containers; the freezer, on the other hand, is equipped with an automatic ice maker with a removable steel container and the Max Ice function which increases the ice production by 40% in a 24-hour period.

Easy to clean, easy to use and, at the same time, technological and with an essential aesthetic. It is Lapitec Chef, an innovative induction cooking system hidden under a top in Lapitec, the material that bears the name of the company that invented it. Lapitec is a sintered stone particularly suitable for the kitchen work surface, because it is obtained from a mixture of 100% natural minerals, without resins, inks or petroleum derivatives: it is therefore a safe and sustainable product. It has the appearance of the natural stone, but offers much higher performance: it is non absorbent and resistant to high temperatures, stains and normal chemicals used in the kitchen. In addition, it has a practically nothing porosity (therefore it is inhospitable for dirt and bacteria) and is scratches and impacts resistent.

How does Lapitec Chef work?
Operation is simple and is based on three main elements: the Lapitec top with touch controls, the inductors hidden under the worktop and the Mat, apparently a simple silicone mat but actually the key component of the system, equipped with magnetic sensors able to activate the induction. By placing the Mat on the hob, the controls are activated and cooking can proceed, using up to four induction zones, depending on whether one or two mats are used side by side (in the absence of the Mat, it is impossible to accidentally turn on the hob because the induction is inactive). Lapitec Chef is compatible with all induction cookware, has 9 burner power levels and can also operate in bridge and childlock mode. Instead, when the user is not cooking, the Mat can be placed elsewhere and the top therefore remains completely free, distinguished only by a display and small engravings. This facilitates cleaning operations and also allows the worktop to be used for other activities, such as preparing food before starting cooking, plating or eating. Furthermore, not only the surface is easy to clean but also the Mat can be washed in the dishwasher.

Patented innovation
Lapitec Chef is a solution patented and developed in collaboration with the University of Padua as regards the electrothermal part. It is the result of years of research and development, which have made it possible to create a technologically advanced, hygienic cooking system with a clean and linear aesthetics.

“Journey to Provence” is a custom-made kitchen project by Officine Gullo for a house located in Village de Gassin, among the hills of the French countryside. It is an open space (designed for cooking, eating and relaxing), which overlooks a garden through a large window. “We proposed two shades of contrasting colors to bring depth and light into the kitchen – explains Manfredi Conforzi, Commercial Director of the Tuscan company –. The mint green contrasts with the creamy white and the burnished brass finishes perfectly complete the project, making the environment even warmer and brighter”. To satisfy the customer’s requests, Officine Gullo has equipped the kitchen with high-performance technologies. In fact, there is an OG Professional 168 cooking machine, equipped with 4 professional burners, a smooth fry top and a pasta cooker. Above there is the hood, made in the same color. The wall used for storing food and drinks includes a professional refrigerator and two wine cellars, while the central island, with built-in dishwasher, has been entirely dedicated to washing.

Among the strengths of Officine Gullo’s projects are the high quality materials and tailoring. “Our kitchens – Conforzi underlines – are made with prestigious materials: steel, copper and brass, which are handcrafted with important thicknesses ranging from 2 to 7 mm. Above all, Officine Gullo is literally what it claims to be: a workshop, where raw materials are cut, bent and decorated, or rather forged, by the hand of man to obtain timeless works. The ‘ingredients’ are not industrial components, pre-finished or semi-finished, but plates, bars and rulers, and similarly the hammering, burnishing, nickel and chromium plating of the brass, the antiquing of the steel or the stove enamelling of the bodywork are made directly in the workshop after the piece has been molded into the shape and dimensions required by the customer”. Another “must” of the Italian company is sustainability: in fact, thanks to the more durable materials, the kitchens of Officine Gullo are made to resist wear and tear for a long time.

In the name of customization
The colors of Officine Gullo kitchens generally do not come from a standard palette, but are obtained on explicit request by the customer, sometimes inspired by the same chromatic finishes of a luxury car, a painting on the wall, a piece of furniture, etc.

The hectic pace of contemporary life has led to the creation of household appliances capable of performing some functions faster than in the past. In the field of kitchen products, in particular, the possibility of quickly heating the oven reduces waiting times, while the induction technology allows for example to boil a pot of water in a few minutes and to take advantage of the Boost function when user needs to have maximum power immediately. And if pungent cooking odors need to be eliminated, hoods with intensive function reach the goal in a short time. Finally, as regards dishwashers, the presence of programs for rapid washing allows for faster cleaning operations.

Induction cooking with suction: fast, effective and precise
Brera by Falmec is an advanced system in which the cooking area and the extraction one are joined by a monochromatic glass, distinguished only by a thin slot that defines the two zones. The induction hob can be set to 9 speeds + Boost through the touch button panel, while the integrated hood (which also adds space savings to time savings) guarantees high suction performance, silence and energy efficiency. When the hob is in operation, the rear part opens automatically to extract cooking fumes. In addition to the advantages in terms of speed, further strengths of the product are the 800 m3/h Brushless motor and the Carbon.Zeo filtration system in the filtering version.

Clean dishes in less than an hour
There are several ways to have clean dishes even when time is short. For example, the GNVP4630BW 16 place setting dishwasher by Grundig (GR7700 series, Prologue collection) is equipped with QuickWash program, which washes in just 58 minutes, drying included. Furthermore, the Mini 30' program is ideal for cleaning lightly soiled dishes and glasses in half an hour or the Express function reduces the washing time by up to 50% by adopting a higher spray pressure. Another technology present in this machine is AutoDose, which automatically adjusts the amount of detergent needed. The user only fills the tank once and the dishwasher automatically picks up the detergent, on average for 23 washes. Finally, the Direct Access commands allow to select the desired program quickly by touching the icon. The product can also be managed remotely with the HomeWhiz app.
