The Permanent Observatory of ADI Design (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale) has selected the Riciclantica Outline kitchen by Valcucine, designed by Gabriele Centazzo, for publication in the ADI Design Index 2023. This is a prestigious annual selection of Italian design products and services, curated by the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) in Italy. The best design projects selected in the ADI Design Index 2023 and ADI Design Index 2024 will compete for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro 2024 award.

The design philosophy of Riciclantica Outline combines the compositional lightness of Riciclantica with its special functional blocks, which can be combined thanks to suspended elements available in various types. These versatile solutions can be configured according to needs, playing with functions, forms, and materials.

Defining the different modules is the metallic profile running along the edges of the surfaces, the stylistic hallmark of Riciclantica Outline. Offered in a black anodized aluminum finish, it enhances the design concept, outlining geometries in space. Riciclantica excels in dematerialization, highlighting the pursuit of maximum thinness, making the world’s thinnest door with only 2 mm thickness.

A Valcucine kitchen was choosen for the renovation of a historic appartment in Milan. The project selected a tailor made designed kitchen in Tech Ceramic, integrating a practical, essential, and efficient style that reflects the spirit of its owners.

«The architects from the Biroarchitetti studio, in charge of the apartment project – the company explained – collaborated in complete harmony with our Milanese partner, Valcucine Milano Brera | Spotti, who projected this refined-designed kitchen. The main goal of the project was twofold: on one hand, to optimize the interior spaces to create new environments that met the needs of the owners, and on the other, to create a contemporary apartment with a strong identity.»

The renovated living area opens up from the entrance, with a study on one side and Valcucine Genius Loci kitchen, directly connected to the dining room, on the other side. This refined-designed kitchen in Tech Ceramic was conceived with a deeper base to provide a broader workspace and increased storage, finally complemented by the company Aerius Wall Unit system in elegant Blackboard Glossy Glass. «The Tech Ceramic Cement finish – Valcucine adds – used for the topwork reveals numerous properties: it resists heat, scratches, abrasions, and stains. It is also easy to clean, non-toxic, and hygienic. Besides, the special glass layering technique used for Tech Ceramic gives the dematerialized surface a superior impact resistance compared to other ceramics available in the market».

Valcucine has realized the Domus Anthology catalogue, a collection of some of its most important projects all over the world. The company took part with its kitchens in some very sophisticated locations such as the Tao Zhu Yin Yuan residential tower in Taipei (Taiwan), Residencia do Carmo in the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil, Bosco Verticale in Milan (Italy), the Cherry Orchard Residence in Moscow (Russia), and many others.

«With the new catalogue “Domus Anthology” – the company explains – we wanted to compile a selection of instances of our design philosophy applied to exceptional projects. A collection of realizations in which architects and interior designers have best interpreted the values, characteristics, and design flexibility of Valcucine while simultaneously meeting the client’s needs in harmony with the spirit of the place».

For each of these residentional locations, Valcucine supplied elegant and performant kitchens. For a house in Bosco Verticale, for example, customers has chosen a composition of Artematica entirely made of glass, a precious, durable, and sustainable material. The choice of a matte finish and a soft color palette, playing with earthy tones and white, creates a soft and muted atmosphere in harmony with the other rooms in the house.

Adom-Studio, a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Desing Office, in collaboration with Valcucine Madrid | Estudio Kroma, designed a minimalist and modern project of a open plan kitchen with island in Madrid. The house was originally subdivided and dark. The architect main objective, for the restoration project Alfonso XII was instead to provide natural light to the house, creating open spaces facing the landscape.

The interior layout revolves around a central living area, with sleeping quarters positioned at either end. The materials utilized in the house include oak, steel, and concrete, which create a striking contrast against the intricately designed custom carpentry specific to the project. To maximize the open space within the house, a perimeter structure is constructed, leaving two distinct elements that harmoniously balance each other: the kitchen island and the fireplace.

The open plan kitchen with island becomes here the focus point of the project. The choice of the architects was to integrate the kitchen into the living space and create an open-plan living environment with an open kitchen. «In this project – Valcucine explains – the focus is on our Artematica kitchen model, with refined and elegant glossy white glass finish. A colour that expresses extreme elegance and cleanliness, just as it is intended to do in the rest of the appartment. Everything is then enriched by the Textile Vitrum finish that is chosen by the designers for the special element Air Logica. Without compromising the elegance, kitchen technology and functionality stand out here in our Air Logica system: when shut the large door conceals the equipped back panel, which is accessorised to meet the user’s requirements with sections dedicated to organising the kitchen».

Within the sustainable setting of a Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Residential Tower, designed by Paris-based architect Vincent Callebaut, a Valcucine kitchen combines technology, science and a sense of elegance inside a luxury apartment in Taipei.

The project is a perfect fusion of Western and Oriental technology and culture. The residential tower is directly inspired by the double-helix structure of DNA, the source of life and the symbol of harmony, and reflects upon the idea of ultimate balance. That is why, the primary goal of the plant-covered twisting tower, is to promote and facilitate the concept of carbon-absorbing buildings, in order to slow down or even reduce the increasing global temperature.

The kitchen area was totally designed by Valcucine Taiwanese partner Hua Pin. «The Genius Loci – the company explains – with its clean lines, timeless aesthetic and hand-crafted workmanship was the owner first choice to reflect the sophistication and refinement of the home’s existing interior, whilst serving as centre stage for the home owners who love to entertain. The elegance of the entire flat is encapsulated in this island composition by the choice of the Distressed Copper metal finishes and the choice of the Genius Loci top in Cardoso natural stone».

Aesthetic cleanliness and user-friendliness characterized the warm high-end Forma Mentis kitchen by Valcucine. In this model the shape of the doors, constructed with sloping edges, is designed to facilitate grip and opening without handles. The edge-saving metal profiles also contribute to increased durability. In Forma Mentis, everything contributes to creating a design layout where natural elements and technological solutions are integrated in a harmonious whole.

Without renouncing operability, tools, functions and accessories are entrusted to large storage walls, dedicated boiseries and the Logica Theca equipped channel, being perfectly concealed. In the upgraded version of Valcucine equipped back section, this storage element is shut by a single door and is perfectly integrated with the worktop. It can hold small kitchen utensils, containers and much

The kitchen also present the Origami breakfast bar. Elegant in its simplicity, it can be used for breakfast or for quick meals as well as being an alternative to the traditional table. It can even become an additional work surface that can accommodate a hob. Finally, the latest special elements presented and proposed in this composition create a perfect blend of design and function: with this Black Flamed Walnut solid wood wall unit Valcucine redesigns the traditional glass display cabinet using clean lines and refined aesthetics.The solid wood carcass accommodates a glass door distinguished by a play of transparencies that offers a glimpse of the inside.

For more than forty years now, we have been looking for a responsible development model capable of giving rise to the creation of projects, intuitions and solutions which, with a view to ongoing improvement while respecting man and the environment, have revolutionised kitchen conventions, to the extent of becoming truly groundbreaking».

In collaboration with Archivibe, in the logic of “connecting the dots”, Valcucine promotes an architecture and design educational tour in Berlin, on May 11 during Berlin Design Week 2023, focused on sustainable architecture and kitchen design. The educational tour is designed to provide young architects, interior designers, architects, and students of architecture the opportunity to experience and learn about how responsible architects are committed to strengthen their working practices to create architecture that has a more positive impact on the world around us.

After the tour, Valcucine organizes a special event at the showroom of its Berlinese partner Valcucine Berlin | Kuechen Atelier Piekarz with the participation of arch. The planning philosophy behind Riciclantica Outline combines some functional volumes which can be connected using different types of floating elements. These versatile solutions can be configured to satisfy various needs, putting together functions, forms and materials. In keeping with the principle of dematerialization, the Floor-to-ceiling System is made up of vertical uprights in black anodised aluminium paired with elegant Gloss Smoky Grey Vitrum Velato shelves for a refined colour effect that adds personality to any room.

Valcucine will present “Ecosophìa” during the Milan Design Week (17-23 April 2023), a reflection on how the company imagines the present and the future of sustainable architecture and kitchen design in relation with the sustainability and innovation values that have always been an integral part of its corporate identity. Inside the Valcucine showroom in C.so Garibaldi 99, in the Brera Design District, the company will display its new kitchen layouts, its characteristic “Special Elements” with their “magical doors”, paired with new materials and wooden finishes designed to lend a warm feel to the typical, hi-tech design.

«Timber architecture – Valcunie explains – vertical forests, passive homes, LEED-certified buildings, houses that merge with nature, redeveloped historical spaces. The outcome of an in-house lab, Ecosophìa is a new portfolio of kitchens, installed in sustainable and innovative homes; not in “impossible architectures” but in contexts that represent the new frontiers of contemporary architecture and are an ongoing source of inspiration to face current problems such as the climate and energy crises. They are inspiration for a better future».

Together with the results of the company’s in-house collaborations, at Milan Design Week 2023 Valcucine will presents the results of externals labs including significant bodies connected to the design world, such as the Domus Academy International Design School and ISIA (public university design institute).
