Samsung Electronics announced its showcase of a model home with a Smart Home Energy Management System (SHEMS), supported by SmartThings Energy, in Brobyholm, a smart and energy efficient residential community development near Stockholm, Sweden.

The comapny takes a part in this project with ABB, solar technology company SMA and a real estate company S. Property. Samsung will not only supply its appliances in Brobyholm residents, but also provide SmartThings Energy for users to control their energy use in consolidated way: refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers will all sync to SmartThings Energy to control, monitor and save energy. Together with photovoltaics (PV) energy production & energy storage system (ESS) which is currently under development by real estate company S. Property Group, each home will aim to maximize energy efficiency.

GE Profile announced the availability of the UltraFast Combo with ventless heat pump technology, its all-in-one laundry solution and latest addition to the GE Profile laundry portfolio. The new combination washer and dryer eliminates the need for owners to complete the laborious task of transferring the load from the washer to the dryer and feeling chained to the laundry room until the cycle ends.

Beyond that, the UltraFast Combo saves time with its ability to wash and dry a large load in about 2 hours. Haier Europe, part of Haier Smart Home, has inaugurated its new European headquarters inside the Energy Park in Vimercate, Italy, in the Green Building Campus. The ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new headquarters was attended by the Senior Leadership Team of Haier Europe, the Consul General of China in Milan, Mr Liu Kan, Vimercate Mayor Francesco Cereda, and Alessandro Spada, Alessandro Scarabelli and Gianni Caimi from Assolombarda. Amdea, the British Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances, partners with top tech firms to launch new consumer guide to the smart home. The new publication, “Safer and Smarter Home: Benefits and Myths”, which builds on the first guide, “Your Guide to a Safer, Smarter Home”, highlights to consumers examples of the benefits of smart home devices and dispels some common myths that consumers may have.

It was produced and published by The Smart Technology Product Safety Stakeholder Group, which was established by Electrical Safety First and DLA Piper in March 2019 to discuss topics that are relevant to product safety in the IoT or smart technology sector and to develop and promote industry best practice. Haier Smart Home has released its financial results for 2022 fiscal year, reporting a growth of 7.2% year-on-year, with sales revenue of 32.6 billion euro. Haier Europe, which is headquartered in Italy, achieved sales revenue of 3.2 billion euro, with an increase of approximately 20% year-on-year.

In 2022, the Haier brand continued to grow in price index and constantly outperformed the industry in market share growth.
