The Atelier kitchen by Abimis has been installed in an exclusive home in Milan. The kitchen occupies the upper floor of the house, characterized by a large living space divided into two distinct areas: one intended for ‘social activities’, such as receiving guests and organizing dinners, parties or events, and the other, more intimate and intimate, dedicated to the family. Atelier presents itself here as an element of union between the two environments. The great peculiarity of the concept is represented by the fact that the entire kitchen environment is made of stainless steel, including the walls, floor and ceiling, painted in an intense shade of red and interrupted by LED light lines. This design choice was intended to ensure maximum hygiene, suggesting a formal and conceptual reference to the kitchens of large hospitality structures.

The Abimis kitchen, built entirely in AISI 304 stainless steel, with a clean and tidy aesthetic, is totally custom. It is an ergonomic, functional and high-performance solution, structured to meet the needs of the most demanding chef.

The kitchen is configured in two distinct areas: an operational one, characterized by a satin finish which makes the surface opaque and slightly reflective, and a service one that ‘communicates’ with the first thanks to a practical serving hatch that extends to the living area. The operational part, in addition to including the washing area and the work space, is equipped with the most advanced professional technologies for cooking, preparing, preserving and refrigerating food, thanks also to Sub Zero & Wolf appliances by Frigo2000.

During Art Basel Miami, contemporary art event held between the 8th and 10th of December, the Boffi|DePadova Miami flagship store hosted “Invisible City”. The event provided a good opportunity to unveil an iconic setting found within a building marked by an industrial vibe with simple anthracite grey hues and steel that frame the shapes, colours, configurations and materials chosen by the creative team at Boffi|DePadova.

This year the Miami showroom hosted the Invisible City exhibit, a collection of works by photographer Veronica Gaido, that created an introspective presentation narrated via a series of evocative photographs of urban landscapes designed to match the Boffi|DePadova display and the sophisticated spirit of its Miami showroom during the week dedicated to art and design in the cosmopolitan city.

Roberto Gavazzi, President & CEO of Boffi|DePadova, describes the exhibition as «absolutely in line with the refined approach of the Boffi|DePadova group. As an art enthusiast, I believe it is proof of Veronica Gaido’s talent and shows that our space in Miami, as well as that of De Padova in Milan which still hosts the exhibit, is the perfect showcase for her urban portraits.»

Induction technology with Dual Max Power zone
Thanks to its essential style, the induction hob integrates into any context, allowing to exploit the advantages of this cooking method. The FSH 905 ID WT BK model by Fulgor Milano (90 cm), for example, is in glossy black glass ceramic and has 5 induction areas. It is characterized by Wave Touch Slider controls and stands out for having the Dual Max Power area in the centre, i.e. two concentric areas of different sizes and powers: it therefore adapts automatically to pots of different sizes, making cooking easier. Furthermore, the product is equipped with Flexi technology (Automatic Bridge) thanks to which it is possible to combine the 4 single zones into 2 large vertical ones, allowing the use of large trays. In addition, the hob has 9 power levels + booster, preset temperatures (40°, 70°, 90°) and end of cooking timer. As regards safety, it is guaranteed by a system that includes the pan detection sensor, the touch control block, the residual heat indicator and the automatic switch-off with temperature sensor. Finally, the appliance is also available in matt black glass ceramic.

The charm of the past lives again
Bertazzoni’s Heritage Series is inspired by the products created by the company at the beginning of the twentieth century, but enriched with contemporary technologies. In particular, the 60 cm F6011HERVPTAC oven is available in matt black or ivory with chrome or copper details. It has a 76-litre cavity and 11 functions for cooking at medium-low temperatures, with static or ventilated cooking, or for browning with the infrared grill. The appliance is controlled via the knobs and the TFT display, thanks to which it is also possible to manage the thermometric probe and the Bertazzoni Assistant which supports the user during the cooking process. The Total Steam function, on the other hand, allows to steam cook and the water tank can be removed and filled without having to interrupt the cooking program. A further strong point of the oven is the cleaning by pyrolysis, which allows to easily clean the appliance using heat, without the need for detergents. Finally, the door has a quadruple athermal glass which guarantees safety and efficiency.

Combined steam oven
For those who love contemporary style, there are several options that also integrate well into the kitchen of a mountain home. Among these, the ICBCSO30TE/S/TH combined steam oven from Wolf E transitional series (distributed in Italy by Frigo2000) allows you to use the benefits of steam for cooking. The product is characterized by a modern stainless steel finish with a tubular handle and an electronic display. It is 45 cm high and has an internal volume of 51 liters and 13 cooking functions, including Gourmet automatic steam with temperature and humidity sensor, Automatic delicate cooking at low temperature, Food warmer (80°C) and Degree-controlled steam cooking from 30°C to 100°C. Furthermore, it also has the function to regenerate already cooked food and includes 14 automatic recipes, as well as the possibility of recording personalized cooking modes. Finally, the oven is in A+ energy class.

Professional equipment
The 150 cm P15FSNE3/BUG cooking block is part of Ilve ‘s Nostalgie collection, which interprets tradition in a modern key. The Burgundy Red color and the brass finishes of the handles, knobs and frames create a retro effect, while the latest generation technologies are able to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding users. The product, in this configuration, features a gas hob with 7 burners (including a double crown burner and fish rack), Coupe de Feu and Fry Top plate. Furthermore, it is equipped with two electric ovens: a main one and a secondary one. Ilve ‘s P15N cooking blocks are available in various configurations and with different colors and finishes. Furthermore, they can be completed with the ladle holder panel and the hood. In addition to the 150 cm blocks, the Nostalgie range includes smaller appliances, with one or two ovens and also with an induction hob.

“Filippo’s kitchen” is a project realized by the company Comes for a private home, located in Ancona, in central Italy. It is an environment conceived as a balanced mix of bold colours, wooden details and industrial-style furnishing accessories, which give personality to the space in which they are placed. The kitchen is developed within an open space which allows to admire the Gulf of Ancona through large window areas. The environment dedicated to conviviality and food preparation is the protagonist of the room and the wooden peninsula, imposing compared to the work area, makes it clear how the project was designed to invite people to “stop” and admire the outside.

The appliances stand out
The kitchen is developed with a “C” shape, within which the appliances not only play a functional role but become distinctive elements capable of standing out in the environment, starting from the black hood with a contemporary design, which matches the minimal style of the induction hob, creating a modern taste area reserved for cooking. In the context of clean and essential lines that characterize the project, this appliance catches the eye: it inserts as a furnishing object within the kitchen environment and at the same time is a technological tool that guarantees air quality through extraction of fumes and vapours, as well as performing the function of illuminating the hob. In the project, a further distinctive element is the refrigerator, with soft lines in the 1950s style which, together with the hood, attracts attention and characterizes the kitchen. Finally, the column-mounted oven and built-in dishwasher complete the range of equipment.

Color to give “character” The metal hood with an industrial flavor and the iconic refrigerator give a personal and "youthful" tone to the kitchen, also daring with colour. Comes focused on this aspect to give "character" to the project, ensuring that the appliances are not only necessary equipment to carry out specific functions but also objects capable of making the kitchen environment pleasant, becoming the heart of the home.

Alma, the new kitchen by Arredo3, retains a distinctly traditional element, the framed door, reinterpreting the style with a fresher approach to suit new trends while preserving its evergreen appeal. It is a contemporary kitchen. Its framed doors are enhanced by the pared-down relief frame and the integrated grip.

Alma is available in various modern and resistant laminate finishes, or in recycled PET, a sustainable material because it derives from plastic that has been recovered, cleaned and worked to obtain a PVC-free compound, which is long-lasting and practical to use. The model often includes glass wall units to retain a vintage appeal.

Its fresh and accessible look, thanks to the transversal solutions adopted by Arredo3 for its kitchen designs, can be made even greener using elements taken from the Gaia eco-sustainable set-up, including eco-compatible, sustainable, recycled or recyclable materials for worktops, for example Laminam® and Cosmolite, or Abitum ceramic slabs.

The Boffi Georgetown showroom doubles the floor space dedicated to Boffi|DePadova, bringing together all the brands in the group under one roof. Boffi Georgetown, located at 3320 M Street, NW, Washington DC 20007, now features the unique collections of the Boffi|DePadova group and its Made in Italy brands, including the contemporary furnishings of De Padova. The showroom presents one location for the comprehensive offerings that emphasize Italian know-how.

The revamped and expanded display occupies 583 sqm and presents a way of living modeled around the kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe systems from Boffi, the partitions from ADL, the pieces from De Padova and its partnerships, including Paul Smith + De Padova for the EVERYDAY LIFE collection, as well as the inspiring furnishings from Time & Style ēdition of Japan.

Amdea will support the new Kitchen of the Future zone at the inaugural Installer Kitchens and Bathrooms zone at the Installer Show 2024 to be held at Birmingham NEC on 25 – 27 June 2024. As the Association explains, «this new initiative will explore the concept of multigenerational kitchens, futureproofing, and how kitchen retailers, designers, appliances and installers can play a pivotal role in shaping the kitchens of tomorrow».

The Installer Show will be focused on important themes such as innovation in materials and appliances; future proofing the kitchen, multi-generational kitchens; sustainability and smart technologies; user experience and accessibility; and retailer trends and consumer expectations. The event invites experts, innovators and leaders to contribute to the Kitchen of the Future Zone by submitting papers and proposals that explore various aspects of the evolving kitchen space.

Ernestomeda has recently opened a new showroom in Shanghai: a large space of 190 m2 that house the brand’s entire range of kitchens. Created in association with all the company’s partners, the inauguration of the new Ernestomeda location in the Chinese city was also the opportunity for redesigning the models’ display in aesthetic and design terms, including all the latest innovations launched with the Sign collection.

As well as the established kitchen models – such as IconColor, Obliqua and K-Lab – the showroom now also features an island composition of Sign, with a high-tech yet also warm, welcoming personality. The base units in Canneté Canyon Walnut Hi-Melamine and the Daylight system in the same finish form an attractive contrast with the satined steel worktop and Mirror metal effect lacquered tall units. The integrated table adds even more functions to this versatile kitchen, while the Bridge system enables the best organisation of the worktop.

The project is accompanied by the Double Indoor cupboard, with its potential for adding another, concealed kitchen. The wall-mounted base units are in London Grey Fenix, like the worktop, which also displays a Teide Oak stained bamboo chopping-board; the wall cladding is in steel and carries an Order shelf with Heat-Treated Oak accessories. The composition is completed by the side tall units in London Grey Fenix with Fit internal accessories and the Canneté Teide Oak Hi-Melamine boiserie panel with Stay shelving system in Teide Oak with Lucem trim.

Cesar has inaugurated a new monobrand store in San Sebastián (Ongi Etorri), opened in collaboration with Decop, a company that has been offering contemporary furnishings for over twenty years. «Cesar by Decop – the company said – was created with the ambition of becoming a benchmark for interior design, particularly in the category of kitchen environments».

Upon entering the showroom located on Paseo de Francia, one immediately gets a sense of Cesar’s primary stylistic guidelines. Colour dominates the display window, thanks to the Rosso Jaipur Unit composition featuring the Platform snack surface in Corvino Oak, paired with an entirely original version of The 50’s, with metallic-look lacquered modules in blue, red, and magnolia.

Inside, the focus shifts to exploration of materials, with the elegant Intarsio island in Tuscan Chestnut, complemented by the Maxima 2.2 column with Shaker doors in Nichel Anodyc metallic-look lacquer. Among the other models in the store, visitors can find Maxima 2.2 variation made up of columns and islands in Meringa technomat, or the kitchen that combines melamine bases in Pietra Piasentina Grigia, Maxima 2.2 columns in Brace technomat, and Dressup.
