A Compasso d’Oro International award has been assigned to the Dual Door-in-Door refrigerators by Lg. The company received the top prize in the Design Food Preparation and Instruments category. Compasso d’Oro, one of the most famous European design award, assigned by Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI), was focused this year on the theme “Design for Food and Nutrition” and for the first time, it was addressed also to competitors outside Italy. Products were evaluated for their innovation, communicative quality and sustainability. The official awarding ceremony took place on December 2 in Milan. Lg’s Door-in-Door concept has revolutionized refrigerator design, giving users quick access to frequently sought food items, while simultaneously reducing cold air loss. The company took the initial Door-in-Door concept one step further by adding another Door-in-Door compartment.
