KitchenAid presents its new Total No Frost Tall 400 built-in combined refrigerator. Characterized by the largest capacity in its category (400 litres) and with an internal width of 70 cm, it features the Total No Frost cooling system, which prevents the formation of ice and frost.

The model is also equipped with the Metal Multi Flow technology, which ensures a constant temperature in every corner of the refrigerator. Furthermore, thanks to the Push To Open system, the refrigerator can be opened with a simple pressure on the door, elegantly adapting to the design of contemporary kitchens.

The new KitchenAid combined refrigerator integrates different technologies to ensure optimal food preservation. The Total No Frost system regulates the circulation of cold air inside the refrigerator, guaranteeing the ideal level of humidity and avoiding the condensation of ice on food and refrigerator surfaces, thus preventing the formation of ice and frost. Finally, the Dinamic Fresh Zone is an innovative drawer for best preserving food, with three temperature levels, ideal for different types of food.

Whirlpool Corporation introduces SlimTech insulation, the first vacuum insulated structure (VIS) technology in a refrigerator in the North American market. This technology represents a significant step forward in refrigeration technology, which has long relied on bulky polyurethane foam for insulation. By using a proprietary material that is vacuum-sealed within the door or sides of the refrigerator itself, SlimTech insulation can reduce the wall thickness by up to 66% – allowing for up to 25% more capacity inside the refrigerator.

SlimTech insulation technology will make its debut in 2024 on the doors of select JennAir® luxury 30, in Slimtech Insulation Column refrigerators, and will roll out more broadly across KitchenAid refrigerators in the future, utilizing the technology for the entire structure. The material used in SlimTech insulation technology also has the potential to be recycled, and Whirlpool Corp. is working to map out a path to reclaiming the material at a refrigerator’s end of use, paving the way for a more circular future.

Keeping food and drinks fresh is not a problem, indeed the most recent models of refrigerators are equipped with technologies that preserve the freshness of food for a long time and, depending on the appliance, also allow the dispensing of fresh water and ice. More space in the same footprint
Designed to fit 75 cm niches, with a height of 193 cm, Grundig Himalaya 75 offers more capacity than a standard fridge-freezer. Thus, it satisfies the needs of those who want more space for storing fresh food, without having to give up a built-in model. The appliance is equipped with the latest generation technologies, such as the VitaminZone drawer which preserves the vitamin contents of fruit and vegetables. Inside, a special alternation of light stimuli simulates the natural 24-hour solar cycle: the colored lights follow one another (4 hours blue light, 2 hours green light, 6 hours red light and 12 hours dark) to allow vitamins A and C and the nutrients to be stored longer. Furthermore, the presence of two separate and independent cooling systems maximizes product performance by guaranteeing a correct level of humidity in the refrigerator compartment and a dry environment in the freezer.

Coordinated aesthetics
With Ilve ‘s Nostalgie collection it is possible to design a kitchen environment that is homogeneous in style also with regard to the main appliances. The side-by-side refrigerator combines retro aesthetics and advanced technologies: it is available in different colors and with various finishes for the handles, and is equipped with electronic control and a water and ice dispenser. It offers a large internal volume (the fridge compartment has a net capacity of 336 liters and the freezer compartment of 152 litres) and features the Super cooling and Super freezing functions. The subdivision of the spaces allows to stow food and drinks in an orderly manner: the refrigerator has 4 glass shelves, 2 drawers for fruit and vegetables and 5 balconies on the inner door, while the freezer includes 2 drawers, 4 glass shelves and 2 balconies. Finally, the appliance is energy efficient.

Filtered and also flavored water
Water and refreshing drinks without the need for plastic bottles: Samsung refrigerators with Beverage Center allow to obtain fresh filtered water both from the dispenser and from the integrated carafe which is topped up automatically (thanks to the Autofill function) and which allows to flavor water with fruit, vegetables and flavourings. Furthermore, the Dual Auto Ice Maker, positioned inside the refrigerator, fills up independently and produces two different sizes of ice cubes: the Ice Cubes (useful for refreshing water) and the Ice Bites (smaller and ideal for juices, soft drinks and cocktails). Another plus of the product is the Smart Conversion function which provides 5 different ways to convert the freezer compartment into a refrigerator, according to needs.

Professional design and technologies
The stainless steel exterior and interior give a robust and professional design to the refrigerators of the PRO line by Sub-Zero (built-in and freestanding), distributed in Italy by Frigo2000. They are equipped with a double refrigeration system (one for the refrigerator compartment and the other for the freezer) and a triple evaporator which allows to set different temperatures in the upper compartment of the refrigerator and in the refrigerator drawers. Furthermore, the Air purification system (technology invented by the NASA) reduces bacteria, viruses and the amount of ethylene gas that is emitted by some foods. In particular, the ICBPRO3650G model is characterized by the triple glass door resistant to UV rays. The fridge compartment has, among its equipment, a drawer with a lid that keeps the humidity level high and 2 removable stainless steel containers; the freezer, on the other hand, is equipped with an automatic ice maker with a removable steel container and the Max Ice function which increases the ice production by 40% in a 24-hour period.

The larger 32-inch display and the wide array of features were jam-packed with designers’ thoughtful and innovative ideas. Bigger screens mean greater attention to detail. For instance, the 32-inch display needed to be accessible to both children and wheelchair users, so the bottom portion of the display was positioned to be mindful of these users’ needs. The top of the display was raised, but the Accessible Screen feature lets users tap the home button twice to bring down the top portion of the screen. The panel surrounding the screen was carefully fitted to make sure the details on the edges were smooth. The mic at the bottom was also moved upwards so that every detail we need to see — or what we don’t — is precisely designed into the form.

Moreover, a wide variety of panel materials are available to choose from, allowing users to design a refrigerator that feels best to their touch. The satin glass is velvety in texture, offering both comfort and glow, while the glam glass brightens any environment with its high gloss surface. Metal embodies Millennial sentiments through a subtle, monotone finish. Panels are easily interchangeable so that a single refrigerator base can support a wide range of styles.

Samsung launches its new Bespoke top-mounted freezer (TMF) refrigerator with a wide range of Bespoke color and finish options, AI-assisted energy saving and optimal refrigeration modes to various lifestyle needs. Available first in Thailand from late March, the new refrigerator will expand to regions all over the world by the end of the year. The Bespoke TMF refrigerator combines elegant design with a full range of Bespoke color and texture options to respond to the stylish needs of every kitchen. With a range of Bespoke colors and finishes to choose from and an elegantly simple modern flat door design, the model stylish finish helps bring the colors of a kitchen to life. Glass textures in Clean Black, Clean Navy, Clean Peach, Clean Pink, Clean Vanilla and Clean White offer a sleek, color-enhancing finish for a refined, modern look. By contrast, Cotta textures in Metal Charcoal, Metal Pink and Metal White offer the warm, matte finish of baked terracotta.

Technological features include SmartThings Energy’s AI Energy Mode that uses AI to keep track of usage patterns and power consumption of the Bespoke TMF. AI Energy Mode then analyzes the data to provide useful insights through the SmartThings app to help the user proactively save energy. Users can monitor consumption cost estimates and get a better understanding of how they use their fridge. This usage statistic can be viewed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, all up to user’s preferences.

The newly introduced refrigerator with MoodUP from LG Electronics is equipped with the LG8111, an on-device AI system-on-chip (SoC) developed by LG’s SIC Center. Even before it was known as LG Electronics, the company began producing chips for consumer electronics as far back as 1992, at the ASIC Center under Goldstar’s Central Research Institute. Now, LG’s SIC Center is responsible for developing all of the AI chips used in LG products. These technologies have evolved over time to become the AI-based integrated circuits now used in cutting-edge appliances and home entertainment solutions such as LG OLED TV, and now, the fridge with MoodUP.

The LG’s latest AI chips can process innumerable data points and enable LG appliances to communicate with one another, and with other smart devices as well. LG8111, the new AI chip used in the MoodUP, features an acceleration engine that processes information gathered from the refrigerator’s built-in cameras, microphones and sensors in real time. This allows the MoodUP to quickly recognize changes in its immediate environment and adjust performance accordingly, facilitate more convenient interactions with users and accurately assess if all of its features are functioning optimally.

LG8111 can provide vision intelligence (the ability to recognize and distinguish between different spaces, locations, objects and users), voice intelligence (the ability to recognize users’ voices or specific noises associated with a certain type of space) and control intelligence (the ability to adjust and optimize performance according to physical or chemical changes in the environment). Also, when connected to Wi-Fi, any product equipped with the LG8111 can transmit information to nearby devices or to cloud servers.

During the latest edition of CES, Samsung presented its latest Bespoke Home innovations. The Bespoke Home 2023 lineup of home appliance combines cutting-edge technologies with aesthetic customization to meet any user’s preferences, setting a new standard for personalized, smart home living.

One of the most interesting product for this new year is Bespoke 4-Door Flex With Family Hub+. The refrigerator dynamic features are showcased on its 32-inch, bezel-less FHD screen that is nearly two times larger than that of previous models. In addition, the new larger dashboard takes advantage of the bigger screen, allowing users to conveniently experience SmartThings services as well as monitor and control their compatible home appliances.

The model also features new Family Hub software. Samsung TV Plus now offers more than 190 free channels, while Google Photos integration transforms the platform into a digital photo frame that makes it easy to share and display photos. The Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with Family Hub+ is set to launch in North America and Korea in the first half of 2023. In addition, a Family Hub software update will roll out to all markets where Family Hub refrigerators are sold in 2023. This includes Korea, the U.S., East and West Asia, Latin America and Europe.

Samsung Electronics announced the global launch of the Bespoke Infinite Line Refrigerator in select markets around the world. Having originally launched in Europe, the Bespoke Infinite Line Refrigerator will expand to countries including Mexico, Thailand and Australia by the end of the year.

During the next edition of CES (Las Vegas, January 5-8), LG will present the new  InstaView French-Door refrigerator. The company’s new, 25.5-cubic feet counter-depth refrigerator offers a generous capacity, despite a nine percent reduction in depth compared to a conventional French-Door model. To increase internal storage space, LG redesigned several of the fridge’s core components – slimming-down the cold air duct and the evaporator, while also reducing thickness by applying enhanced insulation. Although its expansive interior provides 25 percent more room for storing food and drinks than LG’s previous counter-depth models, the new French-Door can still help to save space in the kitchen thanks to its smaller footprint.

Latest generation technologies and connectivity The combined freestanding CBNstd 579i by Liebherr belongs to the Peak series, the company's top range, and stands out for the BioFresh-Professional function with HydroBreeze, which allows the most delicate foods to be preserved in the best possible way. HydroBreeze produces a cold mist that is vaporized every 90 minutes for 4 seconds and for 8 seconds when the door is opened: this technology allows to keep fruit and vegetables fresh for longer. The product is also equipped with InfinitySpring (the water dispenser mounted flush in the left wall of the refrigerator compartment) and VarioTemp, a function that allows to convert the freezer compartment into a refrigerator compartment or cellar compartment, setting a temperature between -2°C and +14°C.
