Falmec presents a new version of Light, Light Bronze, an hood characterized by elegant profiles in the warm bronze shade. Ideal for island kitchens, the new model remains suspended above the hob, allowing a clearer and wider view, and also enhancing the other elements of the kitchen. Morevover, this hood has the advantage of a filtering installation, which does not require any need for ducting.

Available in 120 and 180 cm sizes, Light Bronze features two anodized aluminum profiles house two smoked glass shelves and an ultra-compact extraction body in height made possible by the Multi-air technology, already presented by Falmec with the original version of Light in 2021. An innovation that allows the suction force to be distributed across multiple small motors – with a total power of 500 m3/h – designed to ensure the same performance in an extremely small volume.

Along the perimeter of the two side profiles, Light Bronze integrates LED strips, for a light that spreads along the entire internal surface of the two components, highlighting the linear design of the hood and illuminating the work surface. In addition, the hood is equipped with an electronic control panel with 3 speed + Boost controls, remote control and Dialogue System, which allows to control the extraction from a Falmec induction hob, via connection between the hood and the cooking area. Finally,  Light Bronze includes an effective filtering system thanks to the Carbon.Zeo combined filter system, guaranteeing effectiveness in reducing odors and vapours.

Well-being in the kitchen also depends on the air you breathe. And when it comes to hoods, well-being means innovative technologies able to eliminate bad smells and cooking vapors, restoring the quality of the indoor air. The possibility to choose between suction and filtering models responds to the different needs of users, to find the most suitable solution for a specific environment. Furthermore, the functional effectiveness is combined with a wide range of aesthetic proposals for a perfect integration with furniture and other appliances.

E.ion System technology
Matrix is the suction solution of the E.ion collection by Falmec. The E.ion System technology, through controlled bipolar ionization, allows to recreate the atmospheric ions in the kitchen which naturally eliminate unpleasant odors and contribute to psychophysical well-being. The leaf-shaped sensor, integrated in the hood, detects the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOC), odorous gases, formaldehyde, cigarette smoke and all other pollutants: it works as an indicator to measure the quality of the home air, changing color (from yellow to green) depending on the environmental conditions. Furthermore, thanks to the automatic function, the hood activates by itself if the sensor perceives a worsening of indoor air quality, purifying it. Matrix is composed of an anodized aluminum structure, with a satin glass volume that gives it a material effect. The functional part is flanked by table tops in smoked glass, where it is possible to house kitchen items.

Plasma filter technology
Thanks to the Plasma filtering technology, the Galvamet Hub pendant island hood allows to eliminate up to 95% of the odors spreading in the kitchen: this appliance purifies the air without the need for pipes, thus combining efficiency and sober elegance. The hood is equipped with a touch screen with which to select the 3 speeds, in addition to the Booster mode. Moreover, Hub can also be controlled with the remote control. The appliance has an adjustable delayed self-shutdown function and alerts the user when maintenance is required on the grease filter. In addition, both the temperature and the intensity of the light can be adjusted. Hub is available in 160 and 120 cm versions. In particular, Hub 160 offers unprecedented opportunities of use (for example as a glasses holder and with side shelf) and Hub 120 is available in the version consisting of the hood element (120 cm) and the shelf element (60 cm), redesigning the space with a contemporary style.

Air is sanitized with the AirO' system Wall by Baraldi integrates the AirO' air sanitizer. The system is characterized by a Plasma generator that releases large quantities of negative ions into the air, which are beneficial to health and capable of eliminating pathogens. The AirO' system works separately from the primary flow of the hood: when the user needs to purify the air, he can activate the sanitizing function which eliminates cooking odors in 15/30 minutes. If, on the other hand, the system is left to run for a few hours (a timer deactivates it after 24 hours), the organic elements, including viruses, bacteria, spores, fungi and molds, are reduced by up to 99.5%.

24h function and Carbon finish The new Bertazzoni KT90P1ANT wall hood (Professional Series) is equipped with the 24h function, which carries out a continuous air exchange. The hood features 3 speeds + Booster, A+ energy class and stainless steel filters. In addition, it is also available with a Carbon finish which uses the same paint applied to the most famous Italian luxury sports cars.

 

 

Minimal hoods are characterized by a style that enhances the purity of the shapes: lines are essential and colors range mainly from stainless steel, to black, to white, making these appliances easily to be integrated with the other elements of the kitchen. The variety of solutions and finishes makes it possible to satisfy different needs, depending on the preferences of the end user. Furthermore, the linearity of the aesthetics is combined with the effectiveness of these devices which contain a high-tech “heart” able to ensure high performance.

Elea: essential style in different variants
Conceived with a clean and linear design, the Elea hood by Baraldi is a model for island or peninsula made in different sizes and aesthetic variants: from 116, 146 and 176 cm, and with the fireplace in the center or off-center to the right or left. The finishes available are in stainless steel or with scratch-resistant black or white paint. Furthermore, the Elea Glass version features a glass top and a stainless steel or black structure. The essential style is combined with advanced technologies: all Elea hoods are equipped with motors in A or A+ class to reduce consumption by up to 30%, with flow rates up to 900 m3/h. Recently, the company has also introduced the DryDrop version for all sizes, which integrates an anti-condensation system into the essential design of the product, especially useful when the hood is placed over an induction hob. When the system is activated, the perimeter panel of the appliance heats up to 55°C in a controlled manner, avoiding the creation of condensation. The residual steam entering the hood is stopped by a sponge filter.

The ultra-compact suction of Light

Innovative technology applied to a light and contemporary design: the Light hood by Falmec is an island solution, designed to fit both in an independent space and “in dialogue” with the living area. What distinguishes this appliance are the geometric lines and the ultra-compact suction body, made possible by the new Multi-Air technology, developed by Falmec. This technology distributes the suction power, normally concentrated on a single motor, in several small motors, to guarantee the same suction efficiency in a reduced volume. Light is also characterized by a central element in tempered smoked glass (120 cm or 180 cm) and two lateral profiles in black anodized satin aluminum, which integrate LED strips able of spread the light along the entire lower perimeter of the two components.

Rules aligns with the wall units Thanks to a mechanism that adjusts its depth, Rules by Elica (design Fabrizio Crisà) has a double “soul”: by reducing the thickness to a minimum, it almost disappears into the wall or, alternatively, it aligns perfectly with the depth of the wall units without discontinuity. Various finishes: black full glass, naked (can be paneled with the same door as the wall units) and Dekton Nero Sirius.

Inside Out “disappears” into the ceiling It is a hood equipped with advanced technologies, associated with minimal lines. Inside Out by Sirius (design Giacomo Fava) is activated by remote control and descends from the ceiling allowing the extraction of cooking vapors, then hiding again at the end of the use.

The Permanent Design Observatory of ADI awards the Spazio hood by Falmec with the historic and authoritative Compasso d’Oro, arrived to its 26th edition. This model, designed by Francesco Lucchese, received this very important recognition for the care and dedication of the Italian company in the creation of innovative solutions improving the home quality.

Spazio joins, in this way, the more than three hundred projects awarded in the course of more than sixty years of life of the Compasso d’Oro, entering by right into the Historic Collection of the Prize. This hood features a 180 cm supporting structure, with comfortable smoked glass shelves for neatly storing any useful object in the kitchen, a practical channel equipped with hooks for organizing ladles or other utensils and a Led lighting system that illuminates the worktop widely, along the entire length of the hood.

The No-Drop® System is the latest innovation patented by Falmec in the kitchen. It represents a solution to a common problem: the dripping of the condensed vapours that the daily activity in the kitchen can cause. The condensation is unpleasant not only during cooking, but even harmful for furniture and wall units that make up the kitchen. This unpleasant phenomenon, accentuated by the use of induction hobs in which the absence of the flame prevents the partial disappearance of the vapours, is solved with the technology patented by Falmec, No-Drop® System. It comes to the solution of the problem by activating the use of a set of metal filters with crossed blades, usually used to collect fats and oils deriving from cooking. The filters are arranged so as to capture every single particle of condensation, which slides by gravity along an inclined channel, to then be conveyed into a special manifold that facilitates collection and disposal. The same filters are treated on the surface with a particular coating that prevents the formation of drops of condensation; in this way the cooking vapours are pulverized in micro drops and evenly distributed on the surface to then finally be aspirated. With the new No-Drop® System, Falmec offers the integrated solution in the Virgola No-Drop wall unit available in 60, 90 and 120 cm sizes. In stainless steel with Scotch Brite finish, Virgola No-Drop is equipped with a rotatable tempered glass cover plate, an electronic 3-speed + boost push-button panel, an efficient motor with a capacity of 800 m3/h and Dynamic LED Light, which allows to adjust the tone of light heat according to the user’s needs.

Spazio, the hood launched by Falmec at Eurocucina FTK last year, has received great acclaim from the public, the press and industry operators, confirming itself among the most successful products in the Falmec universe. Further proof of this are the awards received during 2019 and the selection by the ADI as a product on the list for the 26th Compasso d’Oro. Smart in design as well as in the distribution of spaces, the solution designed by Francesco Lucchese allows the user to facilitate activities in the kitchen thanks to a kit of accessories and additional functions. Spazio presents a 180 cm island structure with three load-bearing elements – entirely in stainless steel, also available in black finish. In the lower part, it features an equipped channel divided among hooks for organizing kitchen utensils, a shelf for spices with a roll holder, a LED lighting system that extensively illuminates the work surface, and a system of electrical sockets and USB ports that allow to recharge tablets, smartphones and MP3 players to have them always at hand, as well as having a ‘tablet support’ to quickly consult the apps. Moreover, Spazio is equipped with an area dedicated to the cultivation of aromatic plants directly in the kitchen, to have a real domestic vegetable garden, thanks to a dedicated light kit and a kit consisting of two trays. From a technical point of view, Spazio incorporates the Circle.Tech system, patented by Falmec, that, thanks to the union in a single apparatus of the suction and filtering part which develops horizontally, allows the outgoing air to spread uniformly and be effectively filtered by a series of filters that wrap around the motor. The Carbon.Zeo filtering technology is able to retain odors with double efficacy compared to the classic filtering solutions, combining materials of natural origin, such as active carbon and zeolite, ideal for the absorption of organic compounds and water vapor.

Elica, the Italian company of kitchen hoods, has appointed Mauro Sacchetto as new chief executive officer with immediate effect. The manager, born in Vercelli in 1959, physic graduate with an MBA from Stanford (USA), has gained extensive international experience in the US, Europe and Asia at leading multinational enterprises in sector such as the Motor Industries, Telecommunications, Electronics and Microelectronics and ICT. During his career, he has held the position of CEO in important companies, such as Marelli Motors, Datalogic and Bull Honeywell Compuprint. In addition, he also has been COO at Pirelli OTI, president and Chairman at Atena and Chairman of the Control Committee at Saipem. Mauro Sacchetto takes the position of Antonio Racinella, who has been chief executive officer at Elica since 2016. “The chairman Francesco Casoli and the board of directors – the official press release says – thanks Antonio Racinella for his steadfast commitment and for leading the company successful turnaround, growth and international expansion process”.

Faber has recently organized Hackathon, an event that involved Faber’s under 35 employees, with low seniority and every company function. It was focused on two innovation challenges: connectivity and e-commerce and was held in Abbey of San Cassiano, near Fabriano, where the participant could live a group experience oriented towards results, problem solving and experimentation with mental agility to work in fast and effective way.
A true 24-hour innovation marathon in which the cross-functional teams, composed of a maximum of 5 people, challenged and worked actively guided by methodologies and tools, such as Design Thinking and Human Centered Design, up to the realization of a concrete project presented to the jury composed by all the Faber management in a final pitch.

During 2017, the Italian company o kitchen hoods Elica totalized a revenue of 479.3 million euro, up 9.1%, and profit of 1.4 million euro, up 125.3%.
In the fourth quarter of 2017, the Group consolidated revenue amounted to 121.6 million euro – an increase of 2.8% on the same period of the previous year and of 6.1% at like-for-like consolidation scope. Global range hood demand continued to grow (+3.1%) in the fourth quarter of 2017. Demand has been sustained principally by the Asian market (+2.7% in Q4 2017), the development of Eastern European demand – featuring Turkish and Russian market growth – and in Western Europe by growing demand in France. Growth slowed in North America on the first half of the year (+3.5% in Q4 2017), while Latin America in the fourth quarter of 2017 saw a decisive turnaround with growth of 1.6%. The Group revenue growth was driven – again in the fourth quarter – by own brand product sales (up 13.2%6), with the Elica brand performing very strongly and reporting in the fourth quarter of 2017 a 17.8%7 improvement on the same period of 2016.
The fourth quarter results also therefore reflect the effective implementation of the Strategic Plan, which throughout 2017 brought dedicated investment and spending.
